The 2024 edition of EIMA International will be the ideal setting to once again showcase McCormick’s innovations in comfort, mechatronic solutions and digital tools, the result of substantial investments in research and development dedicated to traceable and sustainable agriculture 5.0.

McCormick X7.6 VT-Drive

There are two models in the McCormick X7.6 VT-Drive range: the 200 hp X7.621 and 240 hp X7.624, the latter nominated for the Tractor of The Year 2025 award in the new MidPower category.

The McCormick X7.6 is powered by a 6-cylinder FPT NEF 67 engine that meets Stage V emission requirements. The 4-stage continuously variable VT-Drive transmission allows a top speed of 50 km/h (in eco mode and where permitted). The independent front suspension IFS (hydraulically suspended and electronically controlled) ensures high comfort and full driving safety on the road and in the field.

The newly designed Clever Cab offers 14% more interior space and 16% more glazed areas for better visibility. The heat-insulated door windows are made of Comfort Sky® – a special compound developed by Saint Gobain – and when compared to conventional windows ensure a temperature differential of up to 6 degrees, as well as reducing noise. The new position of the handles also makes it easier for the operator to climb aboard. On the outside are LED light clusters, both front and rear, while inside is the new infotainment system, which can be integrated with Apple Car or Android Auto, new rear-view mirrors and new cooler compartment space.

X7.6 VT-Drive

Finally, the controls have been redesigned to be even easier and more convenient to reach, while the dashboard and digital interfaces have been enhanced to offer an even more satisfying user experience. New interior trim in automotive-style plastics and an Alpine four-speaker audio system complete the line-up. The new digital cluster, located behind the steering wheel, benefits from a clean design and integrates new functions, as well as dialoguing with the 12” DSM Plus touch monitor.

Among the features of the VT-Drive transmission on the McCormick X7.6 is the SmartPower Zero function. This ensures that the tractor remains stationary after the reverse shuttle is engaged, providing greater operator comfort during transport and field operations, as well as when hitching implements. On the other hand, the McCormick EazyGrip system automatically manages tyre pressure, optimising fuel consumption and traction while reducing tyre wear and ensuring optimum pressure at all times, from road to field.

The McCormick X7.6 accommodates mechatronic systems to assist driving and support fleet management, from PSM – Precision Steering Management (assisted satellite guidance system) to the McCormick Fleet & Remote Diagnostics Management system for real-time fleet control, tractor data analysis, remote maintenance scheduling and activity history via data storage. The tractors are then digitally integrated with McCormick Farm, an App created to facilitate farm management from an agronomic point of view. The tractor is connected to an intelligent and intuitive system supporting more than 400 different crops. By using the McCormick Farm App, it is possible to view performance and work reports, access prescription maps and identify fences and obstacles. This allows each area of the farm to be governed in an optimised manner.

McCormick X5.120 P3-Drive

McCormick X5.120 P3-Drive, awarded Tractor of The Year 2024 at Agritechnica 2023 in the Best Utility category, represents the most powerful model in the X5 family. Its main new feature is the P3-Drive transmission, 36+12 or 48+16 with HML and creeper, designed and built entirely in the Argo Tractors factories. A combination of 3 PowerShift (HML) and 4 robotised gears is available for each range, offering 12 ratios that can be managed in sequential or automatic mode for each of the 4 ranges. Everything is conveniently controlled via the SmartPilot joystick (on the new right-hand console), taking advantage of the Auto PowerShift (APS) feature that automatically engages the gear as speed increases.

Equipped with a 3.6 litre FPT F36 engine, Stage V compliant, with 4 cylinders and 16 valves, the range delivers power from 95 to 114hp and maximum torques from 395 to 460 Newton metres, all in a compact tractor with a wheelbase of 2,354 mm. What makes this model unique compared to the competition and guarantees high operator comfort (an aspect that makes it Best in Class) is the combination of suspended axle and suspended cab with Panhard bar.

X5 P3-Drive

Finally, thanks to careful design, the exhaust gas aftertreatment system consisting of DOC, DPF and SCRoF is housed entirely under the bonnet to ensure greater compactness and visibility. The bonnet itself, made in one single piece, offers a wide opening for easy maintenance and cleaning of the radiators.

It is a versatile, compact tractor with a shipping weight of only 4,000 kg, suitable for farm work, but also for demanding work in open field applications, but also for small farms (shed work and material handling when equipped with the M20 loader)..

Main innovative features include the P3-Drive transmission and the introduction of ADS+ for steering. ADS+ is a steering system designed primarily to improve operator comfort. It combines two-stage power steering which includes the EazySteer function, allowing steering to be completed using only one and a half turns of the steering wheel, facilitating headland manoeuvres. In addition, ADS+ comes with other features, such as vibration reduction on the steering wheel, readiness for assisted satellite guidance systems and increased steering wheel stiffness as the speed increases. Thanks to this technology, when manoeuvring, the steering behaves exactly like that of a car and is able to realign itself automatically after a turn.
