McCormick reinforces support for Scottish farmers with new dealer announcement at Royal Highland Show

– W M Rose become latest to join the strengthened network
– Larger tractors and technology to match will be highlight of stand
– Needs of smaller farms not forgotten with full-line offering

Complementing its multiple dealer appointments across Scotland and the Borders over the past few years, McCormick is once more attending the Royal Highland Show (22-25 June, Ingliston) with the announcement that WM Rose of East and West Linton will take on the McCormick franchise with immediate effect – further strengthening the network which has seen considerable growth in recent times.

The family run business matches the ethos of the brand, providing excellent local service from businesses who are focused on customer service rather than huge multiple depots giants with large overheads to service.

The McCormick stand spotlight will be on the multitude of mid-range models offered by the brand around the UK’s 170hp average annual tractor sales power figure. Across many of its Scottish dealers, McCormick is experiencing growing sales in this bracket.

Serving the needs of a broad range of arable, mixed and livestock farms and contractors, there will be representatives of the 135-155 max hp X6.4 P6-Drive series with six-speed powershift, which includes the X6.414, judged Tractor of the Year 2023 in the ‘Best Utility’ category for features including its front axle suspension, four-wheel braking and P6-Drive transmission with six powershift gears and manual or robotized range change.

Also present will be X7 short wheelbase tractors with six-step powershift P6-Drive and continuously-variable VT-Drive. The range includes the four-cylinder 165hp X7.417 and 175hp X7.418, plus the six-cylinder X7.617 and X7.618 with the same maximum power outputs. Potential buyers thereby have a choice of configurations to suit their needs, with a wheelbase of 2,651mm (four-cyl models) and 2,760mm (six-cyl tractors), but all models have a maximum 11,500kg gross vehicle weight and maximum 710/60 R38 rear tyre size.

Topping the display will be representatives of the latest X7.6 six-cylinder long wheelbase range, spanning 190/210/225hp (max) with P6-Drive six-step powershift or 210/225/240hp (max) with VT-Drive. Features include a brake-boosting system to reduce braking effort required while improving driving accuracy and safety.

Visitors to the McCormick stand will also find displays of the brand’s latest precision farming technology in conjunction with TopCon, and farmer-focused solutions for finance and minimising cost of ownership.

“Scotland is a very significant part of our UK market, and over the past couple of years we have made some big dealer appointments across the country that have really helped us make inroads here. The latest appointment of WM Rose further underlines this ” says Adrian Winnett, Managing Director of Argo Tractors UK & Ireland.

“Good forward planning for stock orders means we have been largely unaffected by the supply issues that have faced some manufacturers, so we have immediate availability on most models. Whether or not they have tried a McCormick before, we’re looking forward to welcoming farmers and contractors onto our stand at the Royal Highland Show. We are finding our emphasis on working with family-run dealerships as an alternative to the multi-branch majors is working really well for McCormick, and we’re confident we can show visitors some key reasons why they should consider a McCormick.”
