All the power and technology of McCormick’s most advanced tractors will be on display at FIMA 2020. Highlights of the event will be the novelties in engine and cab design.
McCormick will once again be present at the 41st edition of FIMA, to be held from 25 to 29 February, in Zaragoza, Spain. This must-attend event for professionals is the perfect showcase for all the power and technology that McCormick tractors have to offer to the most demanding farmers.
To this end, the McCormick stand will feature a selection of Series X6.4, X7 and X8 tractors with which visitors will be able to verify first-hand all the features they are capable of offering.
A great number of McCormick professionist will also be present at the stand, so that all visitors may appreciate the characteristics of each model. It will also be the perfect opportunity to see McCormick‘s firm commitment to Agriculture 4.0, where technological improvement and innovation go hand in hand with attention to human factor and environmental sustainability.
X6.4
Available in 3 models with powers of 121hp, 133hp and 140hp guaranteed by 4,500 cm3 4-cylinder Betapower Fuel Efficiency engines emitted Tier 4 Final with SCR post-gas treatment system, it offers different transmission options: VT-Drive by Argo Tractors (3-stage continuous variation) and Powershift with 3 gears under load (48 + 16 with Creeper).
VT-Drive functions are controlled from the multi-function armrest and the 12” touchscreen DSM monitor.
The rear lift easily handles all types of fully mounted implements (5,400 kg) and an optional 110 l/min closed-centre hydraulic system delivers fast response for loaders and equipment.
Comfort during field operations and in transport is ensured by such options as front axle with independent suspension and mechanical cab suspension. The cabin is up to the highest standards in terms of ergonomics, low noise, automatic climate control and excellent visibility.
X7
McCormick X7.624 VT-Drive Stage V will be undoubtedly the star of the McCormick stand, presented for the first time at the Agritechnica Fair in Hanover (Germany).
With an increase in engine power to 240hp, it represents the highest performance of the X7.6 VT-Drive Series which is characterised by a general increase in power starting from 180hp.
Equipped with a 6-cylinder, 24-valve 6.7-litre Beta Power Fuel Efficiency engine, the McCormick X7.624 delivers a maximum torque of 983 Nm at 1,400 rpm with the Power Plus system that guarantees maximum power and performance combined with fuel savings, lower tractor wear and a generous 36% torque reserve.
The engine’s B.I.C. – Best in Class system makes it possible to optimise the fuel filters in order to reduce engine oil waste, cutting maintenance times and costs. In addition, the Engine Brake system is used to improve transport efficiency. By using the turbocharger’s throttle valve, the operator can reduce engine rpms by operating the engine brake together with the rear brakes.
The combination of a high-performance engine and the 4-stage continuously variable VT-Drive transmission with 4 sets of crown wheels with oil-cooled clutches provides excellent reactive capacity, making the work particularly easy.
The focus on facilitating the operator’s work is maintained and evident in the design of the semi-active suspension cab which features top-quality materials, excellent ergonomics and an attention to detail that results in maximum comfort and spaciousness.
The new configuration of the control unit, governed by the Data Screen Management (DSM), evolves from the existing level with patented “My switch” button to a new version that multiplies these programmable buttons by five, placed on the armrest, allowing the driver to store five functions for greater customisation of the tractor controls.
McCormick X7.624 is also compatible with satellite guidance and the ISOBUS system that connects the tractor, implements and on-board computer, ensuring superior efficiency and productivity. With ISOBUS, the operator can manage all implements using a single touchscreen monitor without having to use additional control units in the cabin.
Furthermore, the advanced McCormick Fleet Management system makes it possible to manage a fleet of tractors by providing immediate, accurate geofencing information that provides data on the worked area, telemetry and geopositioning.
The superior technology of the tractors is matched by the cabin’s top-drawer interior and exterior. The main new features of the McCormick X7.624 VT-Drive are the new bonnet design in line with the McCormick X8 family styling and the new roof design, with 12 working lights that have been repositioned to give the operator greater all-round visibility even during night-time operations.
At the McCormick stand at FIMA, the Series X7 models with P6-Drive transmission will also be displayed. At the Zaragoza event, you will be able to see both a Premium version as well as an Efficient model. The first version features the CCLS closed-centre hydraulic system with up to 160 l/min and a maximum of 8 electro-hydraulic spool valves and a 3-way flow diverter. The Efficient package offers basically the same engine and transmission configuration as the Premium version, however with a basic 88 l/min Open-Centre hydraulic system.
X8
McCormick’s highest expression of power and technology is evident in the Series X8 VT-Drive models. Upon first glance, X8 VT-Drive stands out for its aggressive, powerful and contemporary design.
Ideal for large farms and demanding contractors, it comes in 3 models, with 6-cylinder Betapower Fuel Efficiency Tier4 Final engines nestled within the tractors rugged chassis, developing 264hp, 286hp and 310hp respectively.
The continuously variable transmission is super smooth to operate both in the field and on the road. Power and efficiency are guaranteed from the fully automated driveline offering 40km/h ECO speed at 1,300 engine rpm and 50km/h ECO speed at 1,600 rpm.
The certified ISObus system is provided as standard and allows managing implement operation from a dedicated menu on the easy to use DSM 12” touchscreen.
The powerful closed-centre hydraulic system with 157 l/min load-sensing pump (a larger 212 l/min pump is available as an option) can handle up to eleven electro-hydraulically controlled valves (6 rear).
The electronic rear lift ensures a maximum lifting capacity of 12,000 kg.
The front axle is equipped with an electronically controlled parallelogram suspension and oil-bath disc brakes for guaranteed maximum safety and driving comfort.
Operator comfort is unparalleled in the 4-post Première Cab that offers all-round panoramic vision, automatic climate control, electro-hydraulic Semi-Active Anti-Damping suspension, air-suspended driver seat, hide-away instructor seat, adjustable multi-function armrest, Bluetooth Mp3 radio system and a large refrigerator compartment. The VT Easy Pilot proportional joystick with its ergonomic handle, provides simple and intuitive control of all the tractor’s functions.
