The third journey on a tractor on the roads and through the countryside of Romania, by the journalist Patricia Pop, blogger and well-known Romanian television presenter, started on May 17 and will continue until July 11. The adventure to discover the agriculture, gastronomy and local tourist attractions, after visiting the southern and western areas of the country, will continue in a dozen or so counties in the eastern area, and will be filmed for the television format “Romania seen from tractor”, and broadcasted on AGRO TV – the only Romanian TV specialised in agricultural news – and TeleMoldova Plus channel this autumn. What’s more, in this third edition the steering wheel in the hands of Patricia Pop will be that of an innovative 240hp McCormick X7.624 VT-Drive boasting a Stage V 6.7 liters 6-cylinder engine.
The tractor, manufactured by the industrial group Argo Tractors, leader in agricultural mechanisation sector and based in Fabbrico (Reggio-Emilia), Italy, is imported by APAN Agricolture to the Romanian market and represents a solution with remarkable new features for the local context. The 5 programmable Myfunctions buttons on the VT-easy Pilot multifunction joystick, the updated software for the Data Screen Manager touchscreen display and the McCormick Fleet Management, the company fleet management system, are just some of the new features on board the new McCormick X7.624 VT-Drive, presented in a unique metallic red livery and equipped with a continuously variable transmission and suspended cab and front axle.
“We embraced with enthusiasm, together with the local McCormick importer APAN Agriculture, this Adventure Show with Patricia Pop – explained Giancarlo Montanari, Argo Tractors Export Area Manager for the Romanian market – first of all in sharing the same values that have always characterised our company, from a passion for one’s territory to the promotion and dedication to the agricultural world and the working of the land. With the new McCormick X7.624 VT-Drive used for the event, we are introducing a state-of-the-art and technologically advanced tractor to the Romanian market, respecting the environment and the work of the operators, guaranteeing a marked qualitative leap in terms of productivity and price/quality ratios. In wishing Patricia an enjoyable journey onboard our comfy and avant-garde tractor, we are convinced that, as seen in the previous editions, this initiative will represent a fundamental tool for the promotion and understanding of the world of agriculture and the territory itself”.
Onboard her McCormick X7.624 VT-Drive, Patricia Pop will start her documented journey in Greci, in the county of Tulcea, travelling through the counties of Brăila, Galați, Vrancea, Bacău, Vaslui, Neamț, Suceava, Botoșani, ending up in Iași on 11th July.
She departed from the foot of the Macin Mountains, the oldest mountains in Europe, an area with a long and turbulent history, given its position of convergence of different ethnic groups. In addition, among the different steps of the journey that will lead Patricia to interview the main role leaders of the Romanian agricultural world, to rediscover excelling and local traditions, there is also a trip planned to visit the University of Iasi, where APAN Agricolture has already been working for several months in collaboration with the local Faculty of Agriculture using McCormick tractors for research and training courses on agricultural mechanics:
“McCormick – adds Montanari – is always at the side of those who work in the technological training sector and this collaboration with the University of Iasi is a significant response to this goal and objective.”
